1 x Green Power Contactor of your choice
Installing the Green Power Contactors Eco-Switch w/Grasslin Timer is a piece of cake! Just hang up this handy unit on any wall then program its Grasslin timer to your specific needs. To enable power at certain intervals, simply move all outer tabs on the device's face - each one representing 15 minutes and super easy to switch with something as simple (and small!) as a pencil.
Once the timer is set, move the timer-face clockwise until the current time lines up with the arrow. The hands on the clock in the centre will then also correspond to the correct time. There is an override switch to the lower-right side of the clock that can be set to "0" for "Always Off," "1" for "Always On," or the centre position for "Timed On," which is the normal setting for the unit when it is in use to switch your lights on and off according to your set programme.
Plug in your ballasts, fans and other electrical items to the Green Power Contactor Switching Unit and flick the switches on - you're ready to go! The rubberised mains plugs can then be plugged into separate outlets, with the timer override switch perfectly positioned for when you want your lighting system switched on according to pre-set programming
It's worth noting that although the Green Power Contactors can handle the switching on of numerous ballasts, traditional (non-digital) HID lighting ballasts draw a considerable surge at switch-on, which is well in excess of their normal running wattage. There must be enough spare capacity on the mains circuit that the Green Power contactor is plugged into to provide at extra amps continuously. Too many lighting ballasts being switched on simultaneously may cause the circuit breaker in your consumer unit to trip if that circuit is being run too close to its limit.
